From research to leadership—spotlighting IHL scholars and changemakers.

Danielle Choi
Danielle Choi is a current sophomore at Glenelg Country School with interests in neuroscience, literature, and music. Driven by her passion for connection, she has served on the teen advisory council for HC DrugFree, the state executive council for Maryland HOSA-Future Health Professionals, and co-director team for the awareness department at Simply Neuroscience. Having been exposed to the healthcare industry at a young age, she witnessed firsthand accounts of the collaboration and teamwork that underscored her father’s work as a military dentist, which ignited her passion for helping others. In the future, she hopes to pursue a career as a physician-scientist in the neuroscience field. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her dog and playing with the Baltimore Symphony Youth Orchestra.
Brianna Xiao
Brianna is a junior at Diocesan Girls' School in Hong Kong, where she studies chemistry, biology, economics, and mathematics. Through hands-on medical experiences—from summer immersion programs to shadowing a specialist physician—she has seen how meticulous care and clinical expertise can transform lives. She joined the International Health Leadership Program (IHLP) to pursue rigorous research, deepen her understanding of healthcare, and harness science as a force for good in the community. Academically, she thrives on tackling complex challenges; beyond the classroom, she expresses her creativity through public speaking, music, technology, and advocacy for conservation.
